In the summer of 2019, Langbow supplied a SOCO SB-63 Auto CNC tube bender to Salem Tube International.
However this was far from the ordinary installation. Salem manufacture a broad range of Heat Exchanger products, and the SB-63 Auto was bought for their ‘U-Bends’. Such is the length of these tubes, that Langbow had to manufacture in-house a 12.2m bed extension for the machine, in order to accommodate the customers requirements.
Due to the nature of the tube being bent in a U shape, i.e coming back on itself, it also posed another question; space. With that length of tube sweeping out in front of the machine, not only does it require someone to walk it around, but also a facility large enough so that it doesn’t clash into anything. Fortunately however with Salem’s very large factory, and the well-trained team of operators, the machine runs as intended.
