In the Spring of 2018, Langbow supplied Princess Yachts with a SOCO SB-51x4A-3SV CNC mandrel tube bending machine, for the production of stainless steel handrails installed on their luxury yachts.
This highly capable & sophisticated machine combines draw, roll and 1D bending technology. This combination allows 2 different fixed radiuses and multiple large roll bending radiuses in a single part, as well as a programmable carriage boost for CLR = 1D bending. Coupled with an individual pressure die system assist in each draw bending stack it brings superior performance and flexibility.
The meticulous requirements for bending stainless steel handrails for luxury yachts meant that Langbow had to work hard, together with SOCO, to produce high quality tooling that would leave little to no marking on the tube. The customer then post-polishes the stainless to the high-shine finish you see on their yachts.
